UK based telephone and online integrative therapy, supervision and coaching (with counselling, yoga, EFT, NLP and crystals)
I help people who are struggling to bounce back to use their whole selves - mind, body, heart and soul - to improve their resilience and make life feel that much easier.
Do you feel like resilience is something other people have or that you used to have rather than something you can benefit from again, now?
The American Psychological Association define resilience as ‘The process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress and bouncing back from difficult experiences’.
Or as Taylor Swift sang, ‘Shake it off’.
We all know that sometimes, bouncing back is easier said than done.
Many of my clients initially tell me they used to be able to but something has happened and they’re not as resilient any more.
Others don’t remember a time when they’ve ever been able to shake things off and be back on top of things.
Online integrative therapy, telephone counselling, online or telephone coaching (with counselling, yoga, NLP, EFT and crystals) can support you in becoming more resilient by:
* Listening to you and helping you to identify the things you find most challenging and supportive
* Helping you take practical steps to create a more nurturing environment for yourself (at home, at work and in your relationships)
* Teaching you practical and effective self-help tools using your body, mind and breath to boost your resilience
* Helping you start or continue to live life to the full while increasing your self-care so blows no longer feel so devastating.
Like balance, resilience shifts. Life can be messy and unpredictable. The strongest, most flexible soul will find their resilience challenged when thing after thing after thing goes wrong.
Similarly, people who previously felt that they had no resilience can cultivate it and become much better at handling adversity.
Being more resilient helps us deal better with life’s lows. I know, as a writer myself, as well as from my work with other journalists, writers and countless other creatives over the years, our capacity to deal with rejection can be a good measure.
Risking rejection is part of life (not just for creatives but anyone applying for any kind of work or seeking promotion, asking someone out, being open with someone).
Even when we’re feeling fairly resilient, a rejection is never likely to have us breaking into a Happy Dance but we can shrug it off more easily and repitch our idea elsewhere, apply for another job, open up to someone else, or do whatever feels applicable for you.
But when we’re feeling less resilient, a single rejection may have us doubting our entire vocation or capacity to find and sustain love.
When we’re more resilient, our immune function is better, we take advantage of more of life’s opportunities (in business and for fun) and we’re better able to enjoy the ride.
Working to improve your resilience may be an integrative process (online integrative coaching with counselling, yoga, NLP, EFT and crystals) or simply therapeutic – we can work in whatever way feels best for you.
